Basketball Recap: Palmetto Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palmetto can now relate to. They fell just short of the Wharton Wildcats by a score of 38-35 on Wednesday. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Nick Womack continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wharton, going 7-for-10 en route to 17 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayson Montgomery, who posted eight points.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Wharton, their win bumped their record up to 22-6.

Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wharton, they will challenge Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wiregrass Ranch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Wharton likes a good challenge.
