Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hillsboro can now relate to. They were beaten by the Lincoln Tigers 69-24 on Monday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Charlee Mack was Hillsboro's leading scorer, having posted 12 points. Aaliyah Cephus held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Ar'Jayla Elder was her usual excellent self, putting up 17 points for Lincoln. Elder's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Lanae Dallas was another key player, posting 11 points.

Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Lincoln, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 34-2.

Hillsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers face off against the Panthers on Thursday. Panther Creek will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight.
