Softball Recap: Burkeville Takes a Loss

Burkeville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-0 to the Hemphill Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on March 7th.

Burkeville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hemphill, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-11-1 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burkeville will welcome Brookeland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Burkeville will need to watch out since Brookeland has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Hemphill, they will face off against Colmesneil at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Colmesneil has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.79 runs per game on average), something Hemphill will no doubt try to take advantage of.
