Basketball Game Preview: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. North Davidson Black Knights

East Davidson is 0-10 against North Davidson since December of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The East Davidson Golden Eagles will look to defend their home court against the North Davidson Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, East Davidson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Southwestern Randolph.

Meanwhile, North Davidson fought the good fight in their overtime match against North Stanly on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 74-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Comets are ranked 77th).

East Davidson will need focus on slowing down Coen Miller, one of several North Davidson players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Davis, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 19 points.

East Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

East Davidson came up short against North Davidson when the teams last played back in November, falling 73-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Davis, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.
