Recap: Manvel Mavericks vs. Angleton Wildcats
The Manvel Mavericks had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They secured a 47-43 W over Angleton. Given Manvel's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Angleton is ranked 609th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Angleton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Braydon Campbell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, and Michael Martinez who scored 14 points.
Manvel's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Angleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.
Manvel will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. Friendswood is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Angleton, they will face off against La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully La Porte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
