Softball Game Preview: Prosser Mustangs vs. Toppenish Wildcats

The Prosser Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Toppenish Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prosser knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Toppenish likes a good challenge.

Prosser is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over Quincy on Saturday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Jackrabbits recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Toppenish fell victim to Grandview and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 6-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Toppenish saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laylah Fitzpatrick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Toppenish's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Prosser, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13-1.

Everything went Prosser's way against Toppenish when the teams last played back in April of 2019, as Prosser made off with a 10-4 win. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
