Softball Game Preview: Wenatchee Panthers vs. West Valley Rams

The Wenatchee Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the West Valley Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wenatchee's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.

Wenatchee is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over Davis on Thursday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Autumn Sutherland was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Makinley Cardona was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Wenatchee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Moses Lake hit West Valley with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 9-7. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Mavericks: they've now lost six in a row.

Wenatchee's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for West Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Wenatchee suffered a grim 21-8 defeat to West Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
