Basketball Recap: Marshfield Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Marshfield and Eau Claire Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Marshfield had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 67-48 to the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Old Abes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Marshfield still got an impressive performance from Zaida Kolbeck, who posted 26 points. Kolbeck's big performance that morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Klumb, who scored eight points.

Marshfield's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Eau Claire Memorial, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

Marshfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they will challenge Neenah on Thursday. One thing working in Eau Claire Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 22 matches.
