Sequoyah has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Metro Christian has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Indians will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sequoyah's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 54-0 victory over Westville. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 233rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sequoyah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shaystin Duncan, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of scores, and also caught one TD. Those 64 rushing yards gave Duncan a new career-high. Ridge Blackbear was another key back, gaining 81 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sequoyah was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Sequoyah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Malakhi Baccus and Jakob Rider. Baccus got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Metro Christian). They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 56-12 win over Webster. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-6.
Metro Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Sequoyah, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-0.
Sequoyah took a serious blow against Metro Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 49-7. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Indians were down 35-0.
