Soccer Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short

Sam Houston lost against Martin back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sam Houston Texans lost 7-0 to the Martin Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Warriors are ranked 144th).

Sam Houston has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-2 record this season. The win (which was Martin's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-5-2.

Looking ahead, Sam Houston will square off against Haltom at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martin, they will welcome Arlington at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Martin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
