Basketball Recap: Leadore Comes Up Short on the Road Against Richfield + How To Watch

Leadore had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Richfield Tigers 64-26 on Friday. The Mustangs were down 47-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Leadore's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dane Piippo, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals, and Porter Mayo, who earned eight points and five rebounds. Piippo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Braxton Marxer, who had four points and five boards.

Richfield found their leader in freshman Rockwell Robertson, who shot 53% from the field en route to 23 points. Brooks Kent was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

The victory got Richfield back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Leadore will look to defend their home court on Monday against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. As for Richfield, they will welcome Jackpot at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
