Recap: Teague Lions vs. Groesbeck Goats

After flying high against the Buffalo Bison last Tuesday, the Teague Lions came back down to earth. Teague was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 38-37 to Groesbeck. Teague was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Groesbeck apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 2nd.

Teague's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was NICK BARRENTINE, who scored 15 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Joshua Owens, who scored eight points.

Teague has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Groesbeck, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-17.

Teague will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Teague likes a good challenge. As for Groesbeck, they will head out on the road to face off against Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
