Softball Recap: Cave Spring Has No Trouble Against Patrick Henry

Cave Spring won the last time they faced Patrick Henry and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Patriots. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Madison Steffen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jovie Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Eanes, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Cave Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.

Cave Spring is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Patrick Henry, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.
