Softball Recap: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. George Walton Academy Bulldogs
Stratford Academy and George Walton Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Stratford Academy had to settle for second. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the George Walton Academy Bulldogs. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Shamiya Raines made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
With the defeat, Stratford Academy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-14. As for George Walton Academy, their win bumped their record up to 25-5.
Stratford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George Walton Academy, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Tattnall Square Academy at 4:00 p.m. Tattnall Square Academy will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something George Walton Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
