Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Booneville's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

There's no place like home for Booneville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past the East Webster Wolverines 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted since March 10th.

Cade Lott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Booneville's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Matthews, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Booneville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for East Webster, they moved to 19-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Booneville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolverines: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
