Baseball Recap: Stevens Wins High-Profile Game Against Spearfish

Stevens faced Spearfish in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raiders beat the Spartans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-1. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Caidan Comparetto was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Vallette, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Stevens' win bumped their record up to 14-5-1. As for Spearfish, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stevens will face off against rival Rapid City Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Spearfish is set to square off against their familiar foe Douglas at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
