After each having a week off, the Crandall Pirates and the Kaufman Lions will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kaufman is hoping to do what Corsicana couldn't last Friday: put an end to Crandall's winning streak (dating back to last season), which now stands at six games. Crandall put the hurt on Corsicana with a sharp 45-20 victory. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Tigers are ranked 699th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crandall found their leader in underclassman Kelsey Hunter, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
