University is a perfect 10-0 against Valley since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. University is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
While University's victory against Prospect Ridge Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs skirted past the Miners 2-1.

Joel Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, University saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Medardo Abrego, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Valley got themselves on the board against Fort Lupton on Monday, but Fort Lupton never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Bluedevils. That looming 18-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.
Valley got a massive performance out of Andrew Renken, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Renken has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Adolf, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
University's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
University was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
