Morgan County entered their tilt with Rutland on Saturday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Rutland Hurricanes by a score of 49-37. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Hurricanes are ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Morgan County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zeki Locus led the charge by putting up eight points along with ten boards and six assists. Locus is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jacoby Simmons was another key player, posting nine points.

Morgan County is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Rutland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
