Football Recap: Antonio Middleton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milton over Niceville

Milton lost against Niceville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Eagles, falling 45-21. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 7-0 in the first quarter.

Milton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Antonio Middleton, who rushed for 113 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Milton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of David Aboya and Kaiden Hall.

It was another big night for Jakobe Gilyard, who rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns for Niceville. The Eagles are 3-1 when Gilyard posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Robert Oliver also helped out with an impressive 138 receiving yards.

Milton's record is now 7-2. As for Niceville, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Milton will venture away from home to square off against Pace at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Niceville, they will be playing at home against Navarre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
