Recap: Southaven Chargers vs. Oxford Chargers
Southaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 14-6 walloping at the hands of the Oxford Chargers.
For Oxford's part, they let Lindsey Gillis and TG Hamilton loose on the outfield. Gillis scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Hamilton scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Addy Shorter, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with.
Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Oxford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southaven will take on Hernando at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oxford, they are on the road again on Thursday to play Lewisburg at 6:30 p.m.
