Pine View hasn't had much luck against Canyon View recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Pine View will welcome Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. Pine View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

The team relied heavily on Genevieve Evans, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Nely Brinagh was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Canyon View came up short against Richfield on Friday and fell 7-3.

Elli John was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

John wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Saide Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Adams has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Pine View's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Canyon View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Pine View hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Canyon View struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
