Basketball Recap: Lexington Minutemen vs. Chillicothe Hornets
After flying high against Wellington-Napoleon last Friday, Lexington came back down to earth. The Lexington Minutemen took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chillicothe Hornets. The Minutemen haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chillicothe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaishon White, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. White has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sol'Jier Allen, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.
Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Chillicothe, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Lexington and Chrisman will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lexington is facing Chrisman at the right time seeing as Chrisman is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Chillicothe, they will challenge Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Chillicothe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
