Soccer Game Preview: Wellington vs. Park Vista

Wellington and Park Vista are an even 4-4-2 against one another since December of 2014, but likely not for long. The Wellington Wolverines will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against the Park Vista Cobras at 6:00 p.m. Wellington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Wellington's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Palm Beach Central by a score of 2-0. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Broncos are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oliver Wasiewski was the driving force of Wellington's attack as he scored both of Wellington's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Meanwhile, on ThursdayFAU High kept up with Park Vista until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Park Vista blew past FAU High 3-0. The win was nothing new for the Cobras as they're now sitting on three straight.

Wellington's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. As for Park Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.
