Softball Recap: Windsor Drops Highest Score of Season Against Plainville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windsor). They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Plainville Blue Devils on Wednesday.

Sydney H made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah G, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hannah O, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Windsor's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Plainville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Windsor will host E.O. Smith/Tolland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Plainville will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' game: after the Warriors face off against Tolland, they'll take on Plainville again at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
