Softball Recap: Baboquivari Takes a Loss

Baboquivari extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 24-0 to the St. David Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for St. David, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. That looming 24-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For St. David's part, Camber Jacquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Jacquez posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Austyn Hatch was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Emma Hart also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baboquivari will challenge St. Augustine Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. David, they will take on San Simon at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
