Baseball Game Preview: Seneca East Tigers vs. Columbian Tornadoes

The Seneca East Tigers will square off against the Columbian Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Seneca East nor Columbian posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Seneca East is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Mohawk, falling 13-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Seneca East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colten Ehresman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Columbian came up short against Shelby on Monday and fell 4-1. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seneca East's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Columbian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seneca East has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Columbian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Seneca East came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
