Preview: Plateau Valley Cowboys vs. Hayden Tigers
After three games on the road, Plateau Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Hayden Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Plateau Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 548 points over their last eight matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Plateau Valley gave their fans yet another huge victory last Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 82-33 victory over Rangely. Plateau Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Plateau Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Vig, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Vig continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Morse, who scored 17 points along with eight steals.
Meanwhile, Hayden came up short against Vail Mountain on Friday and fell 46-33. Hayden has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Plateau Valley's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Hayden, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Plateau Valley strolled past Hayden in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 46-31. Will Plateau Valley repeat their success, or does Hayden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
