Basketball Recap: Erath Takes a Loss

Erath was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the St. Martinville Tigers, falling 69-17. The contest marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

St. Martinville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Raytyrion Narcisse, who went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most steals Narcisse has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jorey Blanchard, who made all 5 shots he took for 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Erath's defeat dropped their record down to 4-25. As for St. Martinville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-13.

Erath will challenge Kaplan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Erath is facing Kaplan at the right time seeing as Kaplan is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Martinville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
