Interlachen barely beat Eastside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Interlachen put the hurt on Eastside with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. Interlachen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Rodney Blackwelder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Devon Williams was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Miles Hoffman, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Interlachen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Matanzas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Menendez. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered against the Falcons since April 20, 2022.
Seth Avellar was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit.
At the plate, Nigel Sejda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonso Quintana, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Interlachen pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Matanzas, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Matanzas' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Interlachen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Matanzas, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Interlachen's hitters?
Interlachen might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Matanzas in their previous matchup on March 5th. Can Interlachen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
