Volleyball Game Preview: Southeast Pirates vs. Canton Central Catholic Crusaders

After both having extra time off, the Southeast Pirates and the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Southeast was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past Waterloo 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Southeast wouldn't go down easily and took Waterloo into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-12, 25-20, 14-25, 15-5.

Meanwhile, Canton Central Catholic got the win against Aquinas on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Canton Central Catholic was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-13.

Southeast's record is now 8-14. As for Canton Central Catholic, their record now sits at 12-10.

Southeast couldn't quite get it done against Canton Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in September of 2017 as they fell 2-0. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
