Last Friday, Pearl River Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Gautier, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pearl River Central.
Meanwhile, East Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of George County.
East Central's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cartavious Myers, who scored 17 points. Brody Howard was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Pearl River Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for East Central, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Pearl River Central took their win against East Central in their previous meeting back in November by a conclusive 58-37.
