Softball Game Preview: Riverton Hawks vs. Springfield

Riverton is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Springfield a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Riverton Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Riverton after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 13-1 to Tri-City.

Brooklyn Lanham made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Springfield came up short against Normal University on Thursday, falling 17-2. That's two games in a row now that Springfield has lost by exactly 15 runs.

Springfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lanie Dumonceaux, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Riverton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
