Softball Recap: Westview Warriors vs. East Noble Knights

Westview extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 10-11 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Noble Knights. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to the Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Westview saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Janissa Lehman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for East Noble, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On East Noble's side, Paige Griggs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Griggs has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

While Westview had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
