Volleyball Recap: Julian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Julian can now relate to. They came up short against the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Hailey Bennett paced Julian's offense, picking up six kills. Bennett got some help from Cami Siraton and her 13 assists. Arabelle Lewis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading St. Joseph Academy to victory were Adley Fontaine and Avery Fontaine. Adley had five aces and three digs, while Avery had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave Avery a new career-high.

Julian's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for St. Joseph Academy, with the victory, they broke their six-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-22.

Julian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will face off against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
