Baseball Recap: Verden Comes Up Short

If Verden was riding high fresh off their 14-8 takedown of Mountain View-Gotebo last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hydro-Eakly Bobcats on Tuesday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 19-9.

Verden's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Hydro-Eakly, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Verden has already played their next game (against Velma-Alma), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hydro-Eakly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Riverside Indian on the 25th.
