Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pinecrest Academy can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Valor Christian Lions and fell 63-30. While losing is never fun, the Paladins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Lions are ranked 53rd).

Leading Valor Christian to victory were Riley Dean and Marisa Taylor. Dean posted 12 points and eight assists, while Taylor dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Mullholand, who had ten points.

Pinecrest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Valor Christian, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-2.

Pinecrest Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valor Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-42 win against Horizon Christian Academy on the 22nd.
