Basketball Game Preview: Central Raiders vs. Central Christian Academy Lions

The Central Raiders will head out to face off against the Central Christian Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Udall.

Meanwhile, Central Christian Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Bennington 57-25. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 58th).

Central will have to keep a close watch on Laila Hernandez and Avery Luckner, a pair of players who had a big impact on Central Christian Academy's prior game. Hernandez posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks, while Luckner had six points. With that strong performance, Hernandez is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Central Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
