It was a proper cat-fight when Worth County faced off against Mound City on Monday. The Worth County Tigers strolled past the Mound City Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 58-43. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Worth County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Ruby, who posted 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Briner, who went 5 of 7 to rack up 10 points and seven boards.

Worth County was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Worth County's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Mound City, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-19.

Coming up, Worth County will take on South Holt at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mound City, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rock Port at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Port knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Mound City likes a good challenge.
