Basketball Game Preview: Red Cloud Warriors vs. Giltner Hornets

The Red Cloud Warriors will challenge the Giltner Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Giltner took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Red Cloud, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Red Cloud didn't have too much trouble with Heartland Lutheran as they won 42-25. The team accrued 35 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Red Cloud can attribute much of their success to Logan Brown, who posted 17 points. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Rust, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 44-26 to Gibbon.

Red Cloud has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Giltner, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Everything came up roses for Red Cloud against Giltner when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 50-23 victory. Will Red Cloud repeat their success, or does Giltner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
