Basketball Recap: Edwardsville Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Edwardsville can now relate to. They fell to the Quincy Blue Devils 42-36. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 42-29.

Quincy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khloe Nicholson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. Nicholson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cameran Byquist, who went 6-for-9 en route to 13 points and five assists.

Edwardsville's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Quincy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-10.

Edwardsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quincy, they will take on Alton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Quincy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.
