Softball Recap: University Extends Road Winning Streak to 12

University owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They put the hurt on the Brighton Bruins with a sharp 8-0 victory. Considering the Hawks have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddie Campbell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Lexi Elza was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Sophia Lehosit also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

University lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

University's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Brighton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

University has already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Langley on the 15th. As for Brighton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Eastside on the 16th.
