Soccer Recap: Samueli Academy's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Cristo Rey Orange County last Friday, Samueli Academy came back down to earth. The Samueli Academy Firewolves took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Christian Fighting Lancers on Wednesday. The Firewolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Samueli Academy hit Western Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Oswaldo Diaz, Isaac Marquez, and Isaac Barriga.

With the loss, Samueli Academy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5-3. As for Western Christian, they moved to 5-3-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Capistrano Valley Christian the next time they take the pitch. Western Christian will head out to face Capistrano Valley Christian at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, while Samueli Academy will head out to face them at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
