Preview: Grapeland Sandies vs. Garrison Bulldogs
Grapeland is 0-1 against Garrison since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Grapeland Sandies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Garrison Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Grapeland was beaten by Shelbyville 64-36. Grapeland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Garrison put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over Shelbyville at home. Fans of Garrison have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Omarion Rasberry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Rasberry is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jachristopher Shepherd, who picked up 70 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Grapeland has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Garrison, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0.
Grapeland took a serious blow against Garrison in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 56-8. Thankfully for Grapeland, Isaac Mccrumby (who picked up 182 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
