Softball Recap: Alcorn Central Bears vs. Baldwyn Bearcats

While Alcorn Central's victory against Baldwyn wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Alcorn Central Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Baldwyn Bearcats on Friday. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bears as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Glorianna Johnson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Dixon, who scored a run and stole a base.

Alcorn Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Alcorn Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
