Basketball Game Preview: Chico Dragons vs. Tioga Bulldogs

Chico is 0-10 against Tioga since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Chico Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Tioga Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. Chico is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

Chico is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 61-48 to Lindsay.

Despite the defeat, Chico got top-tier performance from Jordan Weiland, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Weiland is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Talon Smith, who posted ten points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Tioga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-34 defeat at the hands of Alvord.

Chico's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Tioga, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Chico took a serious blow against Tioga in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 73-26. Can Chico avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
