Football Recap: Summit Academy Skates Past Hamtramck with Ease

Summit Academy never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hamtramck Cosmos 36-0. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Summit Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Boykins, who picked up 79 receiving yards and two scores. Everet Roberts made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Summit Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Damaris Brooks and Roberts. Roberts got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Summit Academy pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.0 points on average over those games. As for Hamtramck, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Summit Academy will venture away from home to take on Old Redford Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will be up against the Ravens' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hamtramck, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Detroit Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
