Middletown came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Willits Wolverines by a score of 22-9. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 14-7 win the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tyler Galamay and Trenton Griffith. Galamay rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown on only six carries while Griffith gained 46 total yards.

Middletown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of John Finney and Jamisen Jackson.

Middletown's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Willits, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Middletown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 41-34 defeat against St. Helena on the 3rd. As for Willits, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-14 win against Lower Lake on the 3rd.
