Basketball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland lost against Eagle's Landing back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Woodland Wolfpack fell 52-39 to the Eagle's Landing Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Eagles are ranked 83rd).

Eagle's Landing's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Moore led the charge by going 7 of 14 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Medley, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Woodland is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9. As for Eagle's Landing, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Woodland will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McDonough at 7:30 p.m. McDonough knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Woodland likes a good challenge. As for Eagle's Landing, they will head out to take on Jones County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
