Basketball Recap: Canon City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Canon City took a hard 50-35 fall against Grand Junction. While losing is never fun, Canon City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Grand Junction is ranked 20th).

Grand Junction got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Henderson out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Henderson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Noah Schmalz, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Canon City's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Grand Junction, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Canon City is taking a road trip to challenge Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grand Junction, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ponderosa at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
